The Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI) has annoucned that Team Tata Motors will be entering the remaining four rounds of the 2015 FMSCI Indian National TSD Rally Championship. The remaining rounds will be held in Goa, Durgapur, Kolkata and Guwahati. With some new and exciting concepts for the 2016 season, Team Tata Motors is very positive about entering teams in the 2016 season also.
“The 2016 season will consist of 12 rounds and eight of them will count to crown the 2016 INTSDRC winners. The new concept is that there will be zonal championships also and there will be three rounds in each zone,” said Arindam Ghosh, Chairman of the FMSCI’s TSD Rally Commission.
“At the end of the season, teams will also compete for the Champion of Champions crown. In this, the top five from the zones will be invited to fight it out with the top eight teams in the INTSDRC,” he added.
The concept of zonal champions has been introduced so as to reduce the cost for privateers.
FMSCI President Zayn Khan said: “We are happy that Tata Motors has returned to the Championship. We are hopeful that by the time the 2016 championship is run, one or two more manufacturers will be on board.”
